Welcome, friends, to a brand new episode of the Real Life Podcast! The show where the boys put together a content outline for every episode and then ignore it 100% of the time. On this week’s show, the guys were happy to welcome longtime Nation reader, Travis Dakin, to talk all things Oilers and whether or not he’s finally ready to get over the Taylor Hall trade.
To start off this week’s episode, Wanye had to get to the bottom of whether or not Travis was finally ready to get over the Taylor Hall trade. For the uninformed, Travis has been ranting about that trade since the day it happened and Wanye is getting tired of it. With that out of the way, the guys got down to important topics like trying to guess when Connor McDavid will win his first Stanley Cup. Now, don’t get us wrong, the guys weren’t trying to put undue pressure on the captain to make this happen, they were only trying to make some wagers to see how optimistic everyone is about the direction the franchise is going. With McDavid is mind, the guys then try to decide whether or not the Leafs are going to have to pay Matthews more than Connor, making McDavid’s deals an even bigger steal than it already is.
With the contract talk and Cup predictions out of the way, the guys got into the 2018-19 Oilers and whether or not the team as it’s currently comprised has the juice to make it back into the playoffs. Have they done enough to keep up to the rest of the division? From there, the guys get into some positive Oilers predictions to try and lighten the mood a little bit while also focusing on the good things that are happening with the Edmonton Oilers. Needless to say, it’s another jam-packed episode of the Real Life Podcast that you don’t want to miss.
So who is Travis Dakin? Here’s the video the boys talk about where Travis got naked after Gagner’s eight-point night.
