The Oilers kept their Stanley Cup dream alive with a big Game 4 win on Saturday night, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Thursday episode of the Real Life podcast.
The boys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life by chatting about how much fun everyone had on Saturday night after the Oilers extended their Cup Final series by at least one more game. Without talking much about what happened on the ice, the boys had to talk about how amazing it was to be in Edmonton on Saturday night. Not only did the team win, but the city was buzzing well into the night after the team secured its first SCF win since 2006.
Turning the conversation back to the Oilers playing their best game of the playoffs, the guys walked through a bunch of the goals scored on Saturday night and how it was, hopefully, the start of the dam starting to burst. Starting with the Mattias Janmark shorthanded goal, the guys couldn’t contain their excitement about how the depth came through at such a pivotal moment. Of course, the conversation lasted two seconds before shifting gears to anything other than hockey.
Finally, the podcast wrapped up the podcast with a four-leg squad bet on Game 5 and a story from Tyler about the conclusion of parking gate in his neighbourhood. Now that one of the neighbours has officially moved out, one can only hope that the drama has ended, but you can never be sure how the new personality will fit in.
