It’s the moment we’ve all been patiently waiting for! After being on the LTIR for over a year with a hip injury, Andrew Ference is making a surprise return to the lineup, just when we need him the most.
It was everyone’s understanding that Ference was waiting to have hip surgery this summer. He had already unofficially ‘retired’ and it appeared his time in the NHL was over… until now. I woke up this morning with a message from my insider saying that he has been skating on his own the past few weeks, and was planning on making a secret start before the end of the season.
I suppose the move makes sense, seeing how the Oilers clinched a playoff spot just this past week. If they lose tonight against Anaheim, I suppose it’s not the worst thing in the world. Ference will likely wear an ‘A’ tonight, which makes me assume Eberle will lose his. God speed, Oil Country.
Anyone buy it?
