If I’m being honest with you guys, I had no idea that today was Wednesday until Lochlin called me for my weekly radio hit with the boys on The Locker Room. I guess that’s what two+ months of self-isolation will do to ya, huh? As I do every week, I jumped on the airwaves with the boys to talk a little bit about hockey, life, and whatever else is going on.
To kick off today’s appearance, we jumped in with a look at movies that we can watch over and over again. As I was thinking about the question, I realized how many different films that I could sit down and enjoy multiple times, which made coming up with an answer trickier than I thought. Back to sports, we looked at yesterday’s announcement about the NHL’s plan to return to the ice later in the summer and had a discussion about whether or not fans should embrace the weirdness of this one-off playoff format. The way I look at it, these are undoubtedly strange days and while there may be flaws in the current 24-team system, I’m certainly not going to complain that the NHL is inching towards playing games again. To put it another way, I just want to watch hockey and fully plan to enjoy the bizarreness of the current situation as best as I can.
