There&#8217;s nothing quite like a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never to cap off your Wednesday afternoon and work your way through the back half of the week. On this week&#8217;s podcast, I&#8217;m talking about the Oilers&#8217; GM search, new music, reality TV, and a whole lot of nonsense.
I started this week&#8217;s podcast with a quick roundup of all things reality TV, new music, and why I love taking time in the off-season to shut my brain off and watch these reality show train wrecks. As the summer of Baggedmilk continues, a big part of it is taking time to recharge the batteries after what was an intense season covering the Oilers, and I couldn&#8217;t think of a better way than watching 20-somethings fumble their way through reality TV dating concepts.
Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, there&#8217;s not a lot of news happening right now, but that didn&#8217;t stop not-a-GM-but-totally-a-GM Jeff Jackson from making another trade. This time, he sent struggling prospect <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/07/15/oilers-trade-xavier-bourgault-and-jake-chiasson-to-sens-for-roby-jarventie-and-fourth-round-pick/">Xavier Bourgault to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Roby Jarventie</a>, a rugged Finn who missed a big chunk of last season with a knee injury. I also walked through a bunch of quotes that came out of the annual Zach Hyman Golf Tournament this week, including Connor <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2024/07/16/theyve-had-a-great-offseason-connor-mcdavid-oilers-praise-edmonton-management-for-offseason-moves/">McDavid&#8217;s thoughts</a> on how the Oilers&#8217; offseason has looked so far.
Lastly, I wrapped up this week&#8217;s show with an RSB about grocery store etiquette and another round of voicemails ranging from summer in Edmonton, some light Oilers talk, a prank attempt, and everything in between. Once again, this podcast really is one of my favourite parts of the week, and I&#8217;m so very grateful for the levels of participation by the wonderful BLTN community that keeps moving.
