He might have won the Hart Trophy, but here’s something.

Connor McDavid was been named the Best NHL Player at the 2022 ESPYS, which is ESPN’s awards show. McDavid beat out Auston Matthews, Igor Shesterkin, and Roman Josi to win the award.

McDavid set a career-high with 44 goals and 123 points over 80 games this season and led the Oilers to the Western Conference Final with an absurd 33 points in 16 playoff games.

McDavid won the Art Ross Trophy for the most points in the NHL. He was edged out by Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs for the Hart Trophy for the league’s most valuable player and the Ted Lindsay Trophy as the most outstanding player voted on by the NHLPA.

Other athletes who won ESPYS this year include slugger and pitcher Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels, quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, and Steph Curry, who just led the Golden State Warriors to another NBA Championship.
