The Edmonton Oilers made a pair of training camp cuts Wednesday morning.
Defenceman Max Wanner, a 2021 7th round pick, has been assigned to the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors, while the club also released defenceman Simon Kubicek from his amateur tryout. Kubicek will return to the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings.
It’s the second cuts the Oilers have made so far in camp. The first wave of cuts saw the Oilers assign three players and release another for last Saturday.
Neither Wanner nor Kubicek appeared in either pre-season game for the Oilers this year.
The Oilers now have 52 players remaining in camp: six goaltenders, 1 defencemen and 30 forwards.
