Things in Edmonton have gone from bad to worse.
With top-pairing defenceman Darnell Nurse already out with a broken finger, the Oilers lost his replacement Duncan Keith Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars.
Keith appeared to injure himself part way through the second period making a simple pass.
Keith didn’t take another shift through the back half of the second, and the team announced he would be out of the game in the second intermission.
It now leaves Kris Russell, Phillip Brobrg and William Lagesson the only left-shot defenceman on the Oilers roster.
Our own Jason Gregor noted on Twitter that defenceman Markus Niemelainen is a likely recall candidate.
