The Edmonton Oilers announced Thursday the club has promoted Brad Holland to assistant general manager focusing on professional scouting.
Holland, the son of Oilers GM Ken Holland, has been with the Oilers for three seasons working as a pro scout, but his impact on the team has been felt. More analytically driven, Holland had a hand in the acquisitions of Zach Hyman, Cody Ceci and Brett Kulak.
According to DailyFaceoff’s Frank Seravalli, Holland generated interest across the league this summer.
The Oilers also announced a number of other moves. Signings to bring back assistants Glen Gulutzan and Dave Manson were made official, while goaltender coach Dustin Schwartz and video coach Jeremy Coupal all were announced to return.
Noah Segall, who worked with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors as a video coordinator, has been promoted to the big club. The Oilers also announced that Keith Gretzky would return as assistant general manager for his seventh season.
