It’s been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I’ve still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed Connor McDavid’s EA Sports ranking, the whining about it online, the Blue Jays being fun, and more. Needless to say, it’s been a busy week around here.
I kicked off this week’s episode with a recap of the only thing we can talk about this summer: reality dating shows. Since there is basically nothing happening for the Oilers or around the NHL, I have all the time in the world to sit and watch the trashiest shows on TV because I’m an adult and no one can stop me. Less embarrassingly, I’ve also spent a bunch of time watching the Blue Jays try and force their way back into the playoff picture. And after the run they’ve had lately, it’s basically impossible to not jump on that bandwagon again. Even if you’ve been watching the whole time, this team is playing a fun flavour of baseball right now.
Finally, I wrapped up this week’s episode of BLTN with a little bit of Elks talk before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was weird this week since I haven’t done it in a while, but I still had a great time hearing everyone’s thoughts on whatever it is that you wanted to talk about. The voicemail is the best way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week’s episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.
