Edmonton Oilers prospect Cooper Marody has been named the AHL’s player of the week after an impressive run scored eight points in three games.
Marody, 24, scored five goals and three assists this week with the Bakersfield Condors as the team rides a five-game winning streak.
He posted a single assist Wednesday in a 6-0 win over San Jose, before posting a hat trick Saturday in a 5-3 win over Ontario. He capped it off Sunday, with a two goal, two assist performance.
Marody now leads the AHL in scoring with 13 points in 10 games, while teammate Tyler Benson isn’t far behind with 11 points in eight games.
Over the weekend, Marody’s linemates were red hot too. Benson scored three goals and as many assists in two games, while Ryan McLeod scored two goals and four assists.
