A great gesture has been done by Edmonton Oilers prospect Cooper Marody to honour teammate Colby Cave who died in April after a brain bleed.
Marody, who writes and records music when not scoring goals for the Bakersfield Condors, has written a tune to honour Cave.
Dubbed Agape, a wedding photo of Cave and wife Emily was shared on social media Friday with this written below.
“Agape. The highest form of love. Selfless, sacrificial and unconditional love: persists no matter the circumstance.”
The song is set to be released on Spotify and Apple Music on June 12th with the proceeds going to the Colby Cave Memorial Fund.
In an Instagram post Friday, Emily said she can’t wait to share the song.
“I haven’t stopped bawling since I received the demo,” she said. “I could feel Colb saying it all to me in person. (Cooper) even added a part of Colb’s vows.
“We can’t wait to share it with you all. It is so beautiful. It is so special. I have no words, Cooper. Thank you doesn’t do justice.”
