The Edmonton Oilers will have goaltending prospect Oliver Rodrigue joining the team for training camp, OilersNation’s Jason Gregor reported.
Rodrigue, 19, was drafted by the Oilers in the second round of the 2018 draft. He spent last season with the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats and posted a 31-7-1 record and a .918 save percentage.
It was undoubtably the best season of his QMJHL career and still has one more year of eligibility.
His father, Sylvain, has been the Oilers goaltending coach since 2014-15.
