After sending back a trio of prospects ahead of yesterday’s pre-season game against the Flames, the Oilers continued to trim down the roster today by sending back 15 players to the Bakersfield Condors. With the Oilers heading over to Europe to start their 2018-19 season, the coaching staff isn’t wasting any time in getting their roster cuts in, trimming the lineup down quickly.
Today’s cuts saw the team sending back 10 forwards, four defencemen, and a goaltender to Bakersfield ahead of the Condors’ training camp. The Condors kick off their pre-season schedule next Saturday, September 29th against the Stockton Heat.
The Cuts:
Mitch Callahan (F) – Bakersfield (AHL)
Braden Christoffer (F) – Bakersfield (AHL)
Luke Esposito (F) – Bakersfield (AHL)
Dave Gust (F) – Bakersfield (AHL)
Cameron Hebig (F) – Bakersfield (AHL)

Again, there are a couple of surprises on this list, but, with that in mind, it’s completely understandable given the abbreviated pre-season they’ll have before heading over to Germany and Sweden. After today’s cuts, the Oilers roster is at 45 players, including five goaltenders, 15 defencemen and 25 forwards.
