<p>The Jets opened the scoring late in the first period while Brett Kulak was in the penalty box for holding. Mark Scheifele put a shot on net from the faceoff circle and Cole Perfetti snuck into the top of the crease and deflected the puck past Stuart Skinner.</p>

<p>The score remained 1-0 through the entire second period and the majority of the third period before the Oilers finally got on the board. Darnell Nurse threw a shot on goal from just inside Winnipeg&#8217;s blueline and it bounced off of Connor Hellebuyck&#8217;s glove and trickled into the net. The Jets really looked like they were on their way to a shutout victory and this bounce completely turned things around.</p>

<p>Not long after the tying goal, Gabe Vilardi took a penalty for holding Connor McDavid&#8217;s stick and sent Edmonton to the power play. While on the man advantage, McDavid fed Leon Draisaitl for a one-timer that he managed to squeeze between Hellebuyck and the post.</p>

<p>The Jets pulled their goalie for an extra attacker but couldn&#8217;t get much going. The Oilers wound up putting more pressure on them and Ryan McLeod was the one who finally fired a puck into Winnipeg&#8217;s empty net. It was McLeod&#8217;s first goal of the season.</p>
