<p>After a scoreless first period, the Oilers got on the board with a power-play goal. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins dropped a pass back to the point for Evan Bouchard, who fired a quick wrist shot toward the net that Zach Hyman was able to deflect past goaltender Anton Forsberg.</p>

<p>The Oilers extended their lead to 2-0 early in the third period. The Sens lazily dumped the puck into the neutral zone at the end of a shift and went to change and the Oilers capitalized. Bouchard fed Hyman just outside of Ottawa&#8217;s blueline and he squeaked a quick shot past Forsberg.</p>

Stuart Skinner stopped the initial play from Tkachuk but Parker Kelly came in from the slot and buried the second opportunity.</p>

<p>Senators defenceman Artem Zub took an interference penalty shortly after Ottawa made the score 2-1 and the Oilers regained their two-goal lead while on the man advantage. Following a faceoff win, Evan Bouchard fed the puck across the blueline to Connor McDavid, who threw a shot-pass through the slot that Zach Hyman deflected past Anton Forsberg to complete the hat trick. Hyman now has 25 goals on the season.</p>
