The Edmonton Oilers got dropped by the Winnipeg Jets by a score of 2-1 on New Year’s Eve, ending their mini winning streak out of the Christmas break at two.

With Cody Ceci in the box for a delay of game penalty, the Jets got on the board first. Pierre-Luc Dubois worked the puck into Edmonton’s zone, dished it off to Kyle Connor in the slot, and he fed Neal Pionk who was wide open in the face-off circle…
After a scoreless second frame, Klim Kostin finally got the Oilers on the board a few minutes into the third. Mattias Janmark grabbed the puck right off a face-off in Winnipeg’s zone and shovelled it right to Kostin who buried his third goal in his last two games…

The Jets regained their lead shortly after. Jesse Puljujarvi bobbled a breakout pass at centre ice and the Jets worked the puck into the Oilers’ zone in transition. The puck made its way back to Pionk at the point and he fired a shot on goal that Kyle Connor deflected past Jack Campbell…

In the dying moments of the game, Klim Kostin got tied up and fell awkwardly into the boards. He needed some help to get up but he skated off the ice on his own…
not good. as time expires on the clock, klim kostin get tied up along the boards and was in serious discomfort. he ended up skating off the ice as teammates held him up.
