The Edmonton Oilers are now on a two-game winning streak after taking down the St. Louis Blues by a score of 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday.
Connor McDavid led the way with three points and the overtime winner, Zach Hyman buried two goals to reach the 40-goal mark for the first time in his career, and Stuart Skinner made 32 saves in the win. Below are the highlights from the game.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

The Blues came out of the gate quickly and capitalized on a power play opportunity a couple of minutes into the first period when Leon Draisaitl was called for high-sticking. Robert Thomas got the puck at Edmonton’s blueline and skated into the faceoff circle before roofing a wrist shot past Stuart Skinner’s blocker side.
St. Louis extended their lead to 2-0 a few minutes later with an even-strength goal from the team’s top line. Thomas fanned on a shot but stayed with the puck and fed it behind Edmonton’s net to Jordan Kyrou, who dished it out front to Pavel Buchnevich, who fired a quick shot past Skinner.
Late in the first period, Blues forward Kevin Hayes took a tripping penalty to send the Oilers to the power play for the first time in the game. They capitalized on the opportunity just eight seconds into the man advantage, as Connor McDavid passed a puck out front that Zach Hyman managed to jam past Jordan Binnington.
Early in the second, Hyman knotted the score at 2-2 with his second goal of the game and 40th of the season. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins made an outlet pass from Edmonton’s zone that sprung McDavid and Hyman on a partial break. Hyman drove the net, McDavid feathered him a pass, and he tapped it in past Binnington.
The Oilers had another power play opportunity in the third period but it was the Blues who wound up with a prime opportunity. Robert Thomas broke up ice on a breakaway after a turnover at St. Louis’ blueline but Nugent-Hopkins raced back to stop the threat.
After a scoreless third and four-and-a-half minutes of overtime, McDavid ended the game with his first goal in 10 games. Binnington was able to get a piece of McDavid’s shot but it bounced off of his shoulder and into the top corner.
