Most of the Edmonton Oilers have returned to their respective homes as they await direction from the league.

According to TSN&#8217;s Ryan Rishaug, those players include Connor McDavid and Darnell Nurse.
&#8220;Players have been told to treat this time as the off-season in case there is a compacted playoff, followed by a new season,&#8221; Rishaug tweeted.

McDavid and Nurse are following suit with many other NHL&#8217;ers who&#8217;ve returned to their respective homes around the world.
For them to head back home suggests to me that we&#8217;re still a ways away from seeing any kind of hockey anytime soon. I have a hard time seeing any form of hockey coming back this summer unless serious progress is made in the fight against COVID-19.
