As I am sure you are aware of now, the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks on home ice last night by a score of 3-1 to win the best-of-seven series 4-1. The playoffs continue to roll on around them as they join only the Islanders and Stars as the teams that have moved on. This article is to update you on what is happening in all the other series, and as an added bonus, pending the outcome of the Golden Knights/Flames series, we will have the schedule for the Oilers Round Two sim for you (at the bottom of the article)

Game 4 Washington/Carolina final score: 3-2 OT Washington (Series 3-1 WSH)
Game 3 5-4 WSH
Game 2 6-2 WSH

Ladies and gentlemen, @Alexander Ovechkin has arrived to the series and with two goals, including the OT winner he is here to mess other teams up. The Hurricanes barely test Holtby and as a result, the Caps are the front runners at 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

The defending cup champions show the resiliency that got them to the ultimate goal last year and overcome a third period deficit and still end in regulation. Binnington is returning to form as he shuts the Preds attack at the end of the game.

The Leafs just will not, would not go away tonight. Taking a lead into the third period for the first time this playoff run, they bent but did not break. The goaltending issues need to be fixed for sure but a home game six may change their fortunes and allow them to force a Game Seven?

Of note from the new schedule, we will have an afternoon game at Rogers Place on Sunday April 19th at 3pm MT. Interested to see if this is more preferred to some to join us. As well, we will not be touching the Wednesday April 22nd out of respect to the big series to raise money for the Edmonton food bank between Ovechkin and Gretzky:
