Oilersnation Everyday: The Mayor of Smashville
Dec 13, 2022, 14:00 ESTUpdated: Dec 13, 2022, 11:40 EST
The Edmonton Oilers lost a tight one last night on the road versus the Minnesota Wild. Their biggest struggle was generating offensive scoring chances, punctuated by the Oilers producing only 21 shots on goal. They did manage to get one by Marc-Andre Fleury when Zach Hyman banked home a rebound past Marc-Andre Fleury to tie the game up at one. Unfortunately for Edmonton, Frédérick Gaudreau scored the game-winner for Minnesota in the second period to give them a 2-1 win.
Tonight, the Oilers will look to get back in the win column as they head to Nashville to take on the Predators. Of course, one storyline that rules them all when Edmonton faces Nashville is that Leon Draisaitl completely owns them. In 21 games, Draisaitl has 30 points, with 20 of those being goals. In their last game versus the Predators, the Oilers superstar had a five-point night with a goal and four assists.
We teased it yesterday, but today Jay Downton will join the Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre-Game show live from Nashville. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will be around to prepare you for tonight’s Oilers game.
Viewers can catch Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin on Oilersnation Everyday at noon mountain on The Nation Network YouTube page. You can also view the show on Twitter and Facebook. After the show has streamed live, you can find it on all your podcast providers.
