Oilersnation Pre Game Podcast – Edmonton Oilers vs Montreal Canadiens

Dec 21, 2019, 14:00 ESTUpdated: Dec 21, 2019, 13:46 EST
One word to sum up the Oilers’ loss to the Penguins: frustrating. They needed a save from @Mike Smith, a big powerplay goal, or a goaltender interference call to go their way. They didn’t get any of those and now their playoff spot in the Pacific Division is in jeopardy. Tonight, they’ll need to play desperate hockey as they welcome the Montreal Canadiens to Rogers Place.
The Habs have been enjoying a very good first half of the season and are currently playing some really good hockey. They have won five of their last six and have won their first two games of this western road trip over Vancouver and Calgary. If you’re looking for a reason to believe the Oilers could win tonight, look no further than their recent history against Montreal. In the last three seasons, they have a record of 4-1-1 against the Canadiens. Last season, in two games, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl combined for nine points in two games.
Plenty of storylines to discuss heading into a massive game for the Oilers. I broke it all down in today’s Pre Game Pod (pres. by YEG Burger). Download it right here in the article or by heading to Apple, Spotify, or Google Play!
