The Oilers continue their four-game road trip tonight with a matchup against the Winnipeg Jets! The Oilers are coming off a loss on Friday night to the Toronto Maple Leafs but they actually played pretty well. Personally, I think they played better in the loss than they did in the win over the Leafs earlier in the week. For the Jets, they’re coming off a win last night and are currently on a three-game winning streak after beating the Ottawa Senators in three straight games. This is the first meeting of the year between these two teams and every game will be huge between these two clubs considering they’ll likely be fighting for a playoff spot towards the end of the year.
The Jets will likely be going with former Oiler Laurent Brossoit between the pipes since they started Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebucyk last night. Winnipeg hasn’t been great at keeping pucks out of their net this year and with their backup goalie getting the start tonight, Edmonton is going to have a great chance to score some goals and get back into the win column.
