To kick off the first episode of ONR of the week, we started with a delicious debate about whether the Oilers have a goaltending problem and whether they should look at an upgrade between the pipes at the trade deadline. After a tough night for Stuart Skinner against Toronto on Saturday, the guys debated whether or not Stan Bowman should be looking elsewhere. While there was a lively debate about the topic, all of the guys still believed in Skinner but did agree that he needed to limit the highs and lows.

Changing gears, we examined the Oilers’ new line combos from yesterday’s practice and asked everyone’s opinion on whether this new trio would work. Before we even got through the first two lines, the conversation shifted to Viktor Arvidsson’s lack of offence so far this season and whether that could result in him leaving town before his contract ends. We also discussed the first two games of John Klingberg and whether he’s shown enough to make us look elsewhere for upgrades ahead of the trade deadline.
