It’s Friday afternoon and that means we’re hitting you with a brand new episode of Oilersnation Radio to help you finish off what’s left of your week with an hour of all things Edmonton Oilers. On today’s show, we looked at Dave Tippett being let go, what to expect from Jay Woodcroft, the rising pressure in Oil Country, and a whole lot more.
Kicking off this week’s podcast, we jumped in with a look at the coaching change that was announced yesterday after Ken Holland decided to make a change behind the bench, bringing in Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson to replace Dave Tippett and Jim Playfair. After taking everyone’s first thoughts on the move, we took our best guesses as to which players will benefit the most from the switch and whether there are any guys that may be negatively affected. From there, we looked at the injuries to Zack Kassian and Duncan Keith and how having them out of the lineup could actually give the Oilers a little bit of cap relief as we draw nearer to the NHL trade deadline. Lastly, we wrapped up this week’s podcast with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers to recap what was a very busy week here in Edmonton.
