Oilersnation Radio Episode 197 – The Battle of Alberta is almost here!

May 17, 2022, 16:30 EDTUpdated: May 17, 2022, 16:28 EDT
We are just over a day away from the start of the Battle of Alberta! It’s the first time that these two teams have met in the postseason since 1991. The Oilers open up the series as underdogs and we started the podcast by discussing whether or not that’s a good thing for the team.
There are some big question marks surrounding a few Oilers and their health heading into this series. We talked about the status of a few Oilers and shared an update on Leon Driasaitl’s availability for game one. We were also joined by our ‘frienemy’ Ryan Pike from Flamesnation. He joined us to talk about the team’s first-round win over Dallas, the play of both Johnny Gaudreau and Matt Tkachuk, and how they match up against the Oilers. Obviously, the Flames will need to zero in on Connor McDavid and find a way to shut down the Oilers superstar. Pike shared how he thinks they’ll try to do it.
We wrapped up the pod with Ask The Idiots for Busters Pizza and our Twig and Barry’s Hot & Cold Performers of the week! It’s going to be a wild few weeks in this province and we are beyond excited for this series to get started! LET’S GO OILERS!
