It’s Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today’s podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers’ first-round exit, what changes to expect in Edmonton, line combinations, injury updates, and more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the Morgan Reilly rumour that came out of the DFO Rundown: Insider Edition, suggesting that Toronto might be ready to move on from their long-term d-man. Given that there have been plenty of rumours about Darnell Nurse getting traded, would it make sense to do a one-for-one swap of the two defencemen? Is that a move the Oilers should even consider?
Shifting gears, the boys looked at the Kris Knoblauch timeline and how it almost seems like the Oilers were trying to have their cake and eat it too. It was almost like they wanted to see what their options were before deciding on Kris Knoblauch, but with the news leaking, that option was likely taken off the table. The guys also discussed the latest rumblings that Bruce Cassidy seems interested in coaching the Oilers, but does that mean he’s the right fit?
Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the playoffs firmly underway, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, most related to the Oilers’ needs for the off-season, some not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.
