Can I be honest here for a moment and admit that I’m incredibly nervous about tonight’s game? No, I’m not nervous because Game 5 is always a pivotal one — I actually see that as a huge opportunity — but rather because we have no idea which Oilers team will show up. So far in this series, the boys have followed up a strong performance with a stinker and that has me concerned about what kind of effort we’ll get. If the Oilers give us a full 60 minutes worth of simple hockey then I don’t think Vegas can compete, but if they get back to trying to force cute plays for whatever reason then we’re going to get ourselves in trouble. So what does that mean for my bets? Cautious optimism and a sprinkle of strategy.

If you’re following along at home, the odds I’ll be using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Golden Knights.

Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots at +105. My $5 bet would return $10.25.

Oilers to have over 32+ shots on net at -125. My $5 bet would return $9.00.

Leon Draisaitl to score 1+ goal and 1+ assist at +175. My $5 bet would return $13.75.

Overt 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to register 2+ points at +125. My $5 bet would return $11.25.

I had so much fun on Wednesday night that I almost don’t care that I hit 2/4 of the bets I posted on the site. What I didn’t share with you up until now is that I dropped a heavy bet on Nuge to score, thinking that he was finally due and when it paid off I must have lept 12 feet in the air. Anyway, Game 4 was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see what the rest of this series has to offer.
