<p>Edmonton Oilers goaltending prospect, Stuart Skinner, extended his season with the Swift Current Broncos by winning the WHL Championship against the Everett Silvertips.</p>
<p>Skinner, a former third-round pick in 2017 (78th overall), was acquired from Lethbridge at the 2018 WHL trade deadline and backstopped the Swift Current Broncos to a WHL Championship win on Sunday night. Skinner put down his sixth shutout of the playoffs, which was a league-best among WHL goaltenders. His 31-saves paved the way for the Broncos to close out the finals with a 3-0 win over the Everett Silvertips.</p>
<p>This league championship will extend Swift Current&#8217;s season and send them to the 100th Mastercard Memorial Cup, where they will go up against the Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL), the Acadie-Bathurst Titans (QMJHL), and the host Regina Pats (WHL). The Broncos first game will be against Acadie-Bathurst on May 19th with the tournament opener on Friday, May 18th.</p>
