The Oilers’ monster road trip continues this morning with a stop in Florida to take on the Panthers. Edmonton played really well on Wednesday in a losing effort to the Lightning and that’s where we started today on the Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show. Caroline and I broke down what went wrong in that game and what prevented the Oilers from at least getting a point. I’m sure you can imagine where that conversation went. The team played well in front of their goaltending though and that is a big positive. If they play that well in front of Mikko Koskinen today against the Panthers, then they’ll have a chance to win the game.

We knew this road trip would be difficult but it was still difficult to watch the team not grab a point out of that first game. They really can’t afford to get swept on this three-game run so grabbing a win, or at least bringing this afternoon’s game to overtime, is very important.
