After starting their homestand off with an impressive victory over the Washington Capitals, the Oilers will welcome the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions to Rogers Place. The Lightning come into this game in a bit of a slump by their standards. They lost 4-1 to the Calgary Flames on Thursday and have now dropped back-to-back games. They’re 1-2-0 on their current road trip and have allowed a total of 14 goals in those three games. Andrei Vasilevskiy is one of the best goalies in the league, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at his recent stat lines. In his last four starts, he’s allowed 16 goals against and his save percentage has been below .900 in each of those games.

What I’m getting at here is that this is actually a winnable game for the Oilers. They played the Lightning really well on the road last month and have proven that they can keep up with good opponents.
