After a thorough beatdown of the Arizona Coyotes earlier this week, the Oilers will be looking to extend their home winning streak to eight games tonight as they host the LA Kings. This is a big game in regards to the Pacific Division playoff picture as well. The Oilers currently sit just two points back of LA and have a game in hand. They also hold the first few tiebreakers over the Kings so with a win tonight, the Oilers would sit in second in the division. The win against Arizona was solid, but it doesn’t totally erase the embarrassing loss to the Calgary Flames over the weekend. The Oilers have been beating a lot of teams that aren’t in the playoff race so getting a win tonight is crucial when it comes to the Oilers proving that they’re a legit playoff team. The Kings aren’t playing their best hockey right now either, which is good for the Oilers.
