WATCH: Evan Bouchard scores a beautiful goal for Södertälje

Evan Bouchard’s domination of Allsvenskan, Sweden’s second-highest hockey league, continued on Sunday.
The Oilers’ first-round pick from the 2018 draft had a huge game for Södertälje SK, scoring a beautiful goal and picking up two assists in the team’s 4-3 victory over BIK Karlskoga.
Here’s the goal that Bouchard scored, which came with his team down 1-0 in the first period at even-strength…
This goal really shows how Bouchard is a cut above the competition in the league he’s playing in. Bouchard picks up the puck, patiently works it around the entire zone, everyone assumes he’s going to dish it off, and then he casually takes the open lane into the slot and wires a snipe past Karlskoga’s goalie.
It’s really a treat watching a player with Bouchard’s vision and poise with the puck play on the larger, European ice surface. I mentioned this a few weeks ago when I posted a Bouchard highlight but you’d think that his lack of elite footspeed would be a detriment on the larger ice, but Bouchard’s vision and smarts keep him a step ahead of everyone else.
The three-point game gives Bouchard 11 points in 16 games on the season. That’s good for second on his team in scoring and is also good for second in Allsvenskan in points among defencemen.
