There was ONE exciting thing that happened in last nights game. ONE.

As you all know, the Oilers got blown out by St. Louis by the score of 7-2. It was a complete disaster and our playoff hopes are essentially doomed now. However, today we have one cool thing to talk about, and that’s the fight between Zack Kassian and Patrick Maroon. We all know from his time here that Patrick Maroon and Zack Kassian are good buddies. In fact, as per Gene Principe, Zack and Connor McDavid went over to Patty’s house the night before the game for dinner. Isn’t that adorable?

Well as per hockey tradition, all friendships are off once the puck drops. After some frustration boiled over in the second period, Zack stepped up and tried to build some energy for his team with a scrap. Zack’s opponent? St. Louis Blues tough guy and former Edmonton teammate, Patrick Maroon. Patty was smiling as he dropped the gloves, but it didn’t look like Zack was. It turned out to be one of the best Oiler fights of the year and went on for quite some time. Both Kassian and Maroon are tough fighters, so watching them duke it out was entertaining as it can get.
