Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to yet another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
To kick off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a look at Evander Kane re-signing in Edmonton and how it was a surprise to so many of us given the rumours that he would be looking for a monster contract in free agency. I mean, given the way the guy filled the net with the Oilers, would it really have been that surprising to see him chase the bag elsewhere? I didn’t think so. That’s why it was so nice to see that Edmonton will basically have the bulk of their roster back for another tour, unlike what’s happening down the road in Calgary. Sticking with the Flames, we then looked at the tire fire that’s burning bright down in Calgary these days after Johnny Gaudreau left the only team he’s ever known to land in Columbus of all places. Things don’t get any better for the Flames, however, as now they’re dealing with the potential for Matthew Tkachuk to be heading out of town as well. Needless to say, the Battle of Alberta could look a whole lot different when October rolls around provided that Brad Treliving can’t stop the bleeding that’s going on with his team right now.
