Risky Business: Do the Oilers feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, looking to start again?

I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t expecting to be having more fun with my game day betting articles at this point in the season. Now in the back half of November, I was expecting the Oilers to be firing on all cylinders, goals being scored left and right, and that my bankroll would be the beneficiary. Instead, what we’re getting is night after night of painful losses, and it’s starting to feel like this is some kind of sick joke from the Hockey Gords that none of us understand. Sure, other fanbases are having a good time with what’s happening with the Oilers — that’s what they’re supposed to do, frankly — but here in Edmonton, there’s nothing but pain at every turn. That said, there’s hope deep inside me that the boys will be able to turn this ship around, and maybe, just maybe, a dance with the Carolina Hurricanes is precisely what the doctor ordered. Dare to dream?

Everything about Monday’s game sucked. I lost money, the Oilers lost the game, and all we were left to do was fight about it on Twitter. This is NOT how this season was supposed to go.
