Risky Business: Do the Oilers feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, looking to start again?

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t expecting to be having more fun with my game day betting articles at this point in the season. Now in the back half of November, I was expecting the Oilers to be firing on all cylinders, goals being scored left and right, and that my bankroll would be the beneficiary. Instead, what we’re getting is night after night of painful losses, and it’s starting to feel like this is some kind of sick joke from the Hockey Gords that none of us understand. Sure, other fanbases are having a good time with what’s happening with the Oilers — that’s what they’re supposed to do, frankly — but here in Edmonton, there’s nothing but pain at every turn. That said, there’s hope deep inside me that the boys will be able to turn this ship around, and maybe, just maybe, a dance with the Carolina Hurricanes is precisely what the doctor ordered. Dare to dream?
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Player Prop:

Connor McDavid anytime goal scorer at +110. My $5 bet would return $10.50.

Easy Money:

Total goals over 6.5 at -150. My $5 bet would return $8.33.

Risky Business:

Connor McDavid to score 2+ goals at +600. My $5 bet would return $35.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Over 6.5 total goals and Leon Draisaitl to score 1+ point at -120. My $5 bet would return $9.16.

Last Game

Everything about Monday’s game sucked. I lost money, the Oilers lost the game, and all we were left to do was fight about it on Twitter. This is NOT how this season was supposed to go.
Here’s what I bet against the Panthers:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal at -111.
  • Oilers over 32 shots at -110.
  • Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid both to score at +300.
  • Oilers to win and Leon Draisaitl to register 1+ points at +140.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Hurricanes.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
