Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
There’s no way in hell the Oilers can lose to the San Jose Sharks tonight, is there? It can’t be this grim around here, can it? Hello? Anybody? Frankly, it’s insane that tonight’s game against the worst team in the NHL is making me as nervous as it is, but that’s what we get when our side can’t seem to string more than a period together. Whether it’s sloppy mistakes halting the attack or the goalies being unable to stop anything at all, the laundry list of reasons why the Oilers are losing is so long that it makes me genuinely concerned about what we’ll get against the Sharks. Given that the Sharks just secured their first win of the season — against a team the Oilers lost to btw — they might be feeling alright about their game, which has me legitimately nervous about what to expect. Will I be betting? Yes. Am I confident with what I’m putting down? Absolutely not.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I’m using for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the San Jose Sharks.

Player Prop:

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to register a power play point at +115. My $5 bet would return $10.75.

Easy Money:

Over 1.5 total power play goals at -143. My $5 bet would return $8.50.

Risky Business:

Edmonton to win every period at +500. My $5 bet would return $30.00.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Oilers to win and over 7.5 total goals at +200. My $5 bet would return $15.00.

Last Game

I hate everything about everything. I came out alright in my bets against the Canucks but I would have much rather watched the Oilers win a game against a divisional opponent. Strange days, my friends.
Here’s what I bet against the Canucks:
  • Evan Bouchard over 2.5 shots on goal at -105.
  • Over 62.5 shots on goal at -125. ✅
  • Leon Draisaitl anytime goal scorer at +105. ✅
  • Over 6.5 total goals and Connor McDavid registers 1+ point at -134.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Sharks.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
