Risky Business: Bet on a Zach Hyman anytime goal and an Evan Bouchard assist

Risky Business is brought to you by NHL odds site Betway!
I don’t think I’m talking out of school when I say that the Oilers aren’t playing their best hockey coming out of the all-star break. At 1-2 in those three games, the Oilers lost two of them to playoff-calibre clubs in the Golden Knights and Kings, while their only win came after a sloppy effort in Anaheim. Needless to say, there’s plenty of room for improvement.
At 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, the Detroit Red Wings come to town playing some very good hockey, and the Oilers had better be ready to go from the opening draw. In the losses to Vegas and LA, the Oilers struggled mightily on the offensive side of the puck, and they would be best served to simplify the approach a little bit while they work through this cold streak.
Rather than trying to make pretty plays all the time, I want to see the Oilers firing pucks on net with bodies out front to try and cash in on any garbage Alex Lyon leaves around the crease. Seeing as he’s giving Detroit some very strong goaltending right now, the last thing the Oilers need is to try and get too cute, which could easily exacerbate their current offensive frustrations. Keep it simple, take lots of shots, and hack away until you clean up the garbage. That’s a winning formula tonight, friends.
If you’re following along at home, the odds I use for my game day betting articles all season come from Betway. Here’s what I’m putting down against the Detroit Red Wings.

Player Prop:

Evan Bouchard to register 1+ assist at +100. My $5 bet would return $10.00.

Easy Money:

Over 62.5 total shots on goal at -116. My $5 bet would return $9.34.

Risky Business:

Zach Hyman anytime goal scorer at +115. My $5 bet would return $10.75.

Can’t Miss Parlay:

Edmonton Oilers to win and Connor McDavid to register 2+ points at +125. My $5 bet would return $11.25.

RISKY BUSINESS PRESENTED BY BETWAY

Last Game

In terms of a horrible betting night, it doesn’t get much worse than losing all four bets I placed while the team simultaneously gets shut out on the ice. All you can really do is flush that one and move, you know? Yikes.
Here’s what I bet against the Kings:
  • Ryan Nugent-Hopkins over 2.5 shots on goal at +120.
  • Over 1.5 total power play goals at -110.
  • Zach Hyman anytime goal at +130.
  • Edmonton Oilers to win and over 5.5 total goals at +175.
And there you have it, friends. Now you know what I’m betting on and how I did last game. As always, I put one unit down on each bet. Hit me up in the comments section to let me know what you’re looking at against the Detroit Red Wings.
It’s also worth noting that betting lines move throughout the day, so that may be the reason why what’s listed above doesn’t match what’s on Betway when you put together your own bets.
