Hello Nation Citizens! How are you doing? How was your week? Tell me everything in the comments.
I know slow starts are becoming a concern for the Edmonton Oilers but the boys are 15-5-0 right now and I want to focus on the positives this week. Here are my favourite moments!

5- Crushing Content

With Week 7 of Oilers hockey in the books, I have to give a big shout out to our team for all the crazy-good content they have created over the last several weeks.
If I’m being honest, one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with Edmonton and the Oilers is all the hilarious content that is made after every game or must-see moment. The amount of memes, pop-culture references, and edits that this Oilersnation team thinks of and creates, is honestly GENIUS.
Just in case you don’t follow us on all platforms, make sure you check us out on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and of course the Oilersnation.com website.
Here are my favourite social media posts from this past week:

4- Mikko Koskinen

We all had Stuart Skinner fever last week but this week, we have to give some major love to Mikko Koskinen for his performance against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Although one can argue that Koskinen’s numbers have been average so far this season, GAA (2.89) and SV% (.912%), we can’t argue his unbelievable 11-2 start to the season. At the end of the day, we all know it comes down to consistency for Koskinen, and making those timely saves. However with that being said, I will always give credit where credit is due and there is no denying that he came out razor focused against the Golden Knights.
With 36 big saves on the night, Koskinen finished the game with a .947 SV% impressing many Oilers fans and members of the media. If you watched the game, you know exactly what I’m talking about. He made some monster saves, especially in the first period.
Now the question is, can Koski continue making the big saves and not let in then soft shots? Can he carry this momentum into the next game against the Penguins? Post your answers in the comments!

3- Nation Viewing Party

Two words: Tyler Yaromperchuk!
He came, he saw, he conquered! We have to give some major props to Tyler for wearing the romper while helping raise $1,000 for our friends over at The Edmonton Humane Society. He was the team MVP that night, for sure!
Okay, so this was my first time attending a Nation Viewing Party and I have to give it an all-around 5/5 stars! As soon as I left the party, I remember thinking, “I love this city and this community so much.” As a scorpio and water sign, I’m always in my feels. Can anyone else relate?
Anyways, a big thank you to The HGA Group, Sherwood Ford, Campio Brewing, Oodle Noodle and of course, all you Nation Citizen beauties for making this night possible.
An Oilers win and great company…does it get better than that?

Side note: On our pre-game show, Jay predicted that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman would get a point against the Golden Knights while embracing the crystals. Whether you choose to believe in the crystal magic or not, it’s real.

2- Connor McDavid

Will there ever be a power rankings article that doesn’t include our captain Connor McDavid? I think not.
First of all, we finally got a window inside (no pun intended) Connor’s home this week thanks to Architectural Digest. In my humble opinion, I think Connor and his girlfriend Lauren did a beautiful job building and designing their home. What’s even better is their dog. Next time, I’d love a full episode on all things Lenard related, please and thank you.
Did you watch the full episode? What are your thoughts? Talk to me in the comments!
My thoughts? I completely agree with Quinn Phillips on this one:
Okay, moving onto hockey related things, Connor McDavid recorded four points (two goals and two assists) in his game against the Arizona Coyotes and is second in the league with 36 points in 20 games.
He also made history this week:
I’m sure I’ll be updating you next week with another Connor McDavid record, stay tuned!

1- Leon Draisaitl

As our super talented girl Kennedy at Oilersnation would say:

What’s there to say about Leon Draisaitl that hasn’t already been said? Draisaitl also put up four points against the Coyotes with two goals and two assists, he’s leading the league in goals (20) and points (40) and he’s already in the conversation for the Rocket Richard with Alex Ovechkin.
Also, Kennedy, If you’re reading this, not it’s not too late, but please keep creating the amazing Draisaitl content that you always do:
To wrap things up, here’s a great question for everyone:
My answer: Draisaitl will finish with 65 goals this season. How’s that for a hot take? I can’t wait to hear your answers!
