Ok, my celebration of Ty Rattie finally getting his chance in last week’s update was slightly premature. Even after leading the Condors in scoring all season, he was only given a sip of coffee in the show and then sent down Friday. His time was short but now he goes back to the Condors in the middle of a desperate playoff push. Speaking of up with the big club, Ethan Bear is the latest Oilers prospect to make his debut in the big leagues.
Speaking of calling up and send downs, Rattie was the only player left on the roster who can join the Condors for the final push.
Meaning guys like Slepyshev and Pakarinen can’t help out the baby Oilers.
The biggest weeks came from the CHL this week for the Oilers. Yamamato, Hebig and Benson all having great weeks for their respective teams.
Goaltenders in the system had a tough week. Even with a guy like Skinner doing really well on a good team in Swift Current, he had a “no decision” in the Calgary game where he was pulled during the win this week. Meanwhile in Peterborough, Dylan Wells may have given way to a younger man as the team continues to lose and will miss the playoffs this year. It has gotten so bad that Shane Starrett is trying to turn into a forward:
I kid, I kid.
