Happy Wednesday, Internet friends, and welcome to another chapter of your ol’ pal Baggedmilk’s adventures in radio. As I do every week, I jumped on the air with the boys on The Locker Room for a quick segment to talk about the Oilers while also offering my takes on anything else that’s going on in the world.
Kicking off this week’s segment, we jumped in with a conversation about my segment intro and how some of the folks over at Cruz think it’s time to change it up now that we’ve been doing this hit for a few years now. Personally, I think the horrible intro has endless charm but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to see what the boys come up with. Back to the NHL, how could we not have a conversation about Duncan Keith being tied to the Oilers and whether or not trading for the veteran defender would be a good idea at this stage in his career. We also looked at the Tampa Bay Lightning who are poised to win back-to-back Stanley Cups, and whether or not the NHL may look to close the loophole they used to enter the playoffs well over the cap. Now, players aren’t paid during the playoffs, but the fact that a guy like Kucherov didn’t play a single regular-season game but was good to go for the postseason has some shaking their heads. Finally, we wrapped up this week’s segment with a look at the idea of a pity parade that may happen in Montreal after a few folks circulated the idea of having one regardless of the outcome.
