DFO Rundown – Ep. 8: Our First Look At The Trade Market

With the NHL’s trade deadline a little over a month away, Friday’s episode of the DFO Rundown featured Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli discussed the teams who could be buying and selling and which big-time players could be on the move.
First and foremost, Gregor and Seravalli spoke about the passing of Walter Gretzky and told a story about why he was such a beloved hockey icon.
From there, they jumped into discussing Frank’s most recent Trade Bait Board post at TSN, discussing big names that could be moved over the next month, such as Mattias Ekholm, David Savard, and Taylor Hall. Gregor also unleashed a rant about how the NHL should make an alteration to how old players are when they’re drafted into the league.
Finally, the podcast ends with another segment of Buy or Sell, which features questions on, among other things, who the Canucks could sell off at the trade deadline and whether the Maple Leafs are going to make a big splash.
4:15 – Are budget issues going to be an issue at the deadline?
6:10 – The latest on Tony DeAngelo
11:30 – What moves could be coming in New Jersey?
13:20 – Could the Dallas Stars head into sell mode?
16:20 – Mattias Ekholm… could he fetch the Nashville Predators a first-round pick?
18:00 – Is David Savard going to be the most wanted defenseman on the market?
19:45 – When will a Sam Bennett move happen?
23:00 – The NHL draft age… will it change?
28:00 – Buy/Sell with questions on Vancouver, Toronto, Vegas, Minnesota, and Washington!
