Jesse Puljujarvi has been added to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol list.
The forward was not seen at the morning skate on Thursday and the game scheduled for a 5 p.m. MST puck drop has been postponed to 6 p.m. MST as the league awaits further test results.
The Oilers, according to Postmedia’s Derek Van Diest, have been in a Montreal hotel since Tuesday night. If Puljujarvi tested positive, he would be required to quarantine for 10 days there.
It wouldn’t be anything new for Puljujarvi to be in a hockey related quarantine. While playing in the Liiga ahead of this NHL season, he was forced into two quarantine periods due to positive COVID-19 tests on his team.
NHL games across the states have been delayed, but it’s yet to happen in the North Division.
It’s believed the Oilers will be receiving results from their latest tests within the hour and this article will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
