Edmonton Oilers forward Tyler Ennis went down in a heap in game three against the Chicago Blackhawks when he skate got caught in a rut.
Ennis appeared to be in a lot of pain and left the ice with help from trainer T.D. Forss heading right to the Zamboni entrance.
According to the Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson, Ennis suffered a broken leg.
It’s tough news for the Ennis who is set to be a UFA this offseason. I liked his game in Edmonton and I think there’s a good chance the Oilers could re-sign him for a contract under $1.5-million.
Hopefully he has a smooth recovery and his ability to play next season isn’t impeded.
