Another day, another win for the Edmonton Oilers.

On Thursday evening, Edmonton hosted the Seattle Kraken. The visiting team got out to a 2-0 lead in the first period but the Oilers scored four unanswered in the second and third frames to earn their 12th consecutive victory.
Let&#8217;s talk about the player of the game along with a few other things that stood out.

<h2>Oilersnation&#8217;s Player of the Game: Leon Draisaitl</h2>
Leon Draisaitl had a quiet start to the season by his personal standards, but he’s started to roar to life in recent times. On Thursday, he scored his 22nd goal to tie the game at two after getting the rebound and banking it off of Joey Daccord. He also added three assists, factoring in on all of Edmonton&#8217;s goals.

For the season, the All-Star centre has 22 goals and 50 points, the ninth straight year he’s hit the plateau. Draisaitl is currently on pace for 44 goals and 100 points, but he tends to pick things up later in the season and down the stretch. 
<h2>Things worth mentioning&#8230;</h2>
Warren Foegele continues to provide massive value playing in the Oilers’ middle six, as he scored twice on Thursday. For the season, he now has nine goals and 23 points in 41 games and is just seven behind his career-high in points and four behind his career-high in goals. He also got the funniest unsportsmanlike call of all time at the end of the game.
Connor McDavid’s point streak is the same as the Oilers&#8217; winning streak, as he extended it to 12 with a late Zach Hyman power-play goal to seal the win for Edmonton. 
Zach Hyman got one of the goals back on the board, as he scored from his office right in front of his goal. With 27 goals on the season (29 without two being removed), Hyman is just nine shy of his career-high he set last season. What a player, what a contract.
Stuart Skinner once again had a save percentage above .900, as he saved 25 shots on 27 attempts for a .926 save percentage. For the season, he’s now down to a .904 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average. Furthermore, he has a .921 save percentage since the start of the Kris Knoblauch era. 
It wasn’t a pretty game for the Oilers, as they went down 2-0 once again. However, as they have done since basically the start of the New Year, they just found a way to win. This was their sixth straight game where they certainly could’ve played better, as all six of those games have just three or fewer goals on an actual goalie.
Either way, the Oilers are surging up the standings and are in contention for the longest-ever win streak, with just six games left to beat the current record. On top of that, the Oilers have now overtaken the Los Angeles Kings for the third spot in the Pacific Division, bringing their record to 25-15-1.
It’s a possibility that they can overtake the Vegas Golden Knights as well, as the Oilers just trail them by four points with three games in hand. The Oilers return to action on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday, as they’ll head down to Calgary for a Battle of Alberta.
