Kailer Yamamoto’s first career NHL goal is a beautiful one.

The 20-year-old achieved the milestone Thursday evening against the Boston Bruins in the home opener.

After Boston opened the scoring in the middle frame, Yamamoto evened up the score just over two minutes later on a fantastic all-around play. It was Yamamoto’s first point of 2018-19.

With the puck in Edmonton’s zone, defenseman Adam Larsson sent a very long stretch pass to Yamamoto at the Boston blueliner. The youngster showed off his blazing speed to burn blueliner Charlie McAvoy and cut down the left wing. Yamamoto went upstairs on goaltender Jaroslav Halak with a fantastic shot to tie the game.

An awesome first goal and an awesome reaction from the youngster.

Yamamoto had been getting his chances, but he couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. He had three assists last season and you knew it wouldn’t be long before he showed up in the goal-scoring department.

The speedy forward, who was selected by Edmonton 22nd overall in the 2017, took 14 NHL games to get his first and becomes the 360th player in Oilers’ history to score an NHL goal.

Last season in training camp as an 18-year-old, Yamamoto impressed enough to earn nine games with the big club, but failed to find the back of the net and was sent back down to WHL Spokane. This time around, he’s showing he’s here to stay for good.

Nice to see him get his first of many in the NHL.
