Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor McDavid lit the lamp on Friday afternoon, scoring a goal and two assists, and four points, respectively, in a big 5-0 shutout win over the Washington Capitals.

It was a feverish affair that saw the Oilers score in bunches, and both players added their names deeper into franchise record books.
For Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, he became the seventh player in franchise history to score 250 power play points with the team, with an assist on an Evan Bouchard goal, extending it with another apple on a Leon Draisaitl tally.
Now at 251 points, he joins the likes of other franchise legends in Glenn Anderson (252), Jari Kurri (253), Draisaitl (268), Mark Messier (283), Connor McDavid, who hit the 300-point mark with three assists today, and to no surprise, Wayne Gretzky, sitting atop the list with 439.
McDavid&#8217;s day, however, added him to many more lists than Nugent-Hopkins&#8217; did.

<li>His third assist marked the 38th time he&#8217;s done so in a game, tying Jari Kurri for third most in Oilers history, behind Mark Messier (41), and Wayne Gretzky, whose 143 will be hard to catch.</li>
<li>With three assists in the second period, it marked the 22nd time he&#8217;s done so in a single frame, passing Glenn Anderson (21), for fourth most in franchise history. Three players have recorded more: Kurri (23), Messier (24) and Gretzky (101).</li>
<li>Those trio of assists in a period are tied for second-most among active players, with a player on the other side of the rink in Alex Ovechkin. Only Sidney Crosby (24) has more.</li>
<li>His fourth assist marked his 33rd four-point game, tying Dale Hawerchuk for the seventh most in NHL history among players 26 years or younger. Those he&#8217;s trailing include Kurri (34), Steve Yzerman (34), Mike Bossy (40), Bobby Orr (41), Mario Lemieux (71) and Gretzky (153).</li>
<li>His three power play assists in the second period put him further in the NHL&#8217;s annals dating back to 1933-34, becoming the 10th player on record to post three or more power play points in a single period multiple times. He joined Glen Wesley, Dennis Maruk, Nicklas Backstrom, Chris Drury, Rene Robert, Mario Lemieux and Ebbie Goodfellow as the only players with two, trailing the likes of Paul Coffey and Gretzky, who each had three.</li>

The last notable achievement came for Stuart Skinner, who posted his third career shutout in the game, doing so in his 78th game. He became the third fastest goaltender in franchise history to hit the mark, behind only Jeff Drouin-Deslauries, who did it in 49 games, and Jussi Markkanen, who did it in 22.
