The injury occurred when Jenner was struck in the face by a deflected shot from his teammate, Ivan Provorov, while positioned in front of St. Louis netminder Joel Hofer. Despite falling to the ice on impact, Jenner quickly headed to the dressing room and did not return to the game after leaving at the 12:09 mark of the second period.
Before his exit, Jenner had contributed two shots and played 12:16 of ice time, contributing to the Blue Jackets 5-2 victory over the Blues.
Blue Jackets head coach Pascal Vincent said that Jenner would be out for quite some time during his post-game interview. The club officially announced the injury on Saturday morning via Twitter, specifying a six-week recovery period that places Jenner&#8217;s return in the new year.
