The Edmonton Oilers played ugly last night versus the Chicago Blackhawks but still managed to come away with two points. The Oilers two superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl scored the only two goals for the Copper and Blue, who beat the Blackhawks 2-1. Despite goals from those two, Stuart Skinner was arguably the Oilers best player denying Chicago on numbers occasions which helped elevate his save percentage back over 900.

With another victory last night, Edmonton has now won eight games in a row with the Detroit Red Wings next up on Thursday. The Oilers still sit in the second wildcard spot two points behind the Nashville Predators, who has played four more games than them. Based on win percentage, the Oilers are now ahead of the Predators.

The Oilers do not have anyone on the list after Warren Foegele was listed on the initial targets earlier in the year. However, the big headliner of the 25 man list is Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks recently acquired Cutter Gauthier from the Philadelphia Flyers so could mean the conclusion of Zegras’ time in Anaheim is on the horizon?
