It’s an Edmonton Oilers game day, which means today’s episode of Oilersnation Everyday is a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition of the show. You will get a full cast today with Tyler Yaremchuk, Liam Horrobin and Jay Downton all featuring on the show.
Of course, the big headline is that Connor McDavid will not play for the Oilers tonight. McDavid will be out for one to two weeks with an upper-body injury he suffered in Saturday’s overtime loss versus the Winnipeg Jets. Without McDavid, the Oilers forward lineup, especially the first line, will look much different. Leon Draisailt will centre Evander Kane and Mattias Janmark. Is this a good decision, or should Jay Woodcroft have experimented differently?
Jack Campbell is the expected start between the pipes in what will be his fourth start of the season. Campbell has been much better this season, but his numbers won’t represent how well he has done. How are you feeling about Soup this year? Do you believe he should be the starter moving forward?
However, Edmonton won’t be the only team on the ice tonight as they make the trip across the border to face the Minnesota Wild. Last season, the Oilers went 1-2-0 versus the Wild, with their lone win coming at Rogers Place when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and had a pair of assists. This season, the Wild have got off to a 2-2-1 start with wins over the Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. To help the guys preview the game, Seth Toupol from Locked On Wild will join the show.
